I really like Vox's feature set, and I know I have no readership here, but I attribute my unwillingness to post and promot here to all of teh Vox-clutter. So, I think I'll be moving away from here to something on my hosted server. I may pre-populate my new blog with some of these old posts, but if not, c'est la vie.

I can't really sleep right now, even though I wish I could. I had a beautiful day today, but maybe too much sugar. We hit the railroad museum in Galveston, followed by confections at La King. I love the Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream! Also, a pound and a half of taffy is much more than it sounds like -- even if each taffy is more wrapper than candy.
4 years and a day after Alyssa first talked to me, I asked her to marry me. She said yes, and I'm ecstatic.

2 20oz. cans of pineapple chunks or rings (in juice)
2 large jalapeno peppers, stemmed & seeded.
1 tablespoon jarred chopped garlic
Salt
Black Pepper

It sounds simple, it sounds like a non-recipe, and hell, it may even sound gross; but this 5 minute snack tastes great and surprises guests. It's perfect for surprise company - you pull garlic from the fridge and a couple of cans from the pantry, and you are set. You can let your peppers dry out for storage, or keep dried peppers just for this. I always have a couple of peppers in the kitchen, so it's not an issue for me. You can substitute pickled jalapeno peppers (the kind that come in a jar) if you like, but remember to compensate for the sweetness added by the vinegar from the jar.
